There was a heroin shooting gallery in the abandoned building across the street from where I lived. It caught fire with frequency when the junkies stumbled out into the daylight and forgot to put out the candles they'd used to melt down their smack... For a long while, I figured most people had the same kinds of thing happening outside their homes. <BR/><BR/>As for teaching in CT, once you get the Ph. D., there really isn't all that much to do else but teach, and you go where the jobs are. The jobs aren't in NYC (everyone wants to teach there). CT it is after a stop in Utica NY.
