In the words of James T. Kirk...

CON! COOONNN!!!!

Stared reading BEWARE THE SOLITARY DRINKER by Cornelius "Con" Lehane . We share an editor at St. Martins along with Blake Crouch and Zoe Sharp (take a bow Marcia). We've also run into each other at a couple of Bouchercons. I've finally gotten around to reading his first book, and man is it good. Each characterization is like a miniature portrait in fine detail. I'm forty pages in after a couple of hours, and that's PDQ for me. In any event, I'm planning to finish the book before year's end and his other book WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND and he's promised to let me interview him for my website next year. Con, if you're out there, I'm coming to get you.

Steve,

I enjoyed both of these books. In fact I have one of the limited editions in my collection....

I read Solitary Drinker, liked it, and enjoyed the time I spent with Con at the Vegas Bouchercon, very interesting guy, but unfortunately I haven't seen him since. I'll pick up his second book - thanks for reminding me.

Aldo,
there are limited editions??? What's the deal? Which book?

Manuel,
Con's a great guy. A lot of stories. He worked as a bartender for a bunch of years so I guess that's one way to collect the stories. He shares a gift for lyrical prose with you. I've met him a couple of Bouchercons and at a Edgar's Symposium. Always a pleasure. You, you need to get out more man. If you're not at the next B'con, I'm going to have to start telling people I'm you.

When you are pretending to be me, can you work on getting me a three book deal with a hefty advance and a deadline at least two years away? I'm sure you will have more success than I have had.
